It's one thing to build a website. Now you have to promote it! If your like everybody else getting traffic to your website is key for survival. In this article I will show you some traffic generating tips using web 2.0 techniques. This can mean the difference of having one to sales a day to a constant everyday cash register machine.
#1 - Use Social Networking Sites - One great way that you can market your website online is by using social networking sites. These sites can help you to generate a huge amount of traffic to your website. There are so many people who currently use these social networking sites to stay in touch with family, friends, business associates, customers, etc. With social networking sites you can establish yourself as a person that is credible and start communicating with people you add as friends to your online profile. Having profiles and blogs on sites like Facebook and MySpace can help you interact with people interested in your product or service.
#2 Make A Video And Post It To YouTube - Creating video now is so simple. Video is the best medium to capture the attention of your visitors. This technique will benefit you greatly because millions of users visit YouTube and other video sharing sites to watch video all day it seems. Your video should be informative, entertaining, and keep your users interested in you first then whatever it is your selling. You can get testimonials of people who used your product, or do a demonstration, case study, and list goes on. Be creative and different. It's the best way to get attention and traffic.
#3 Use Craigslist- Craigslist is a good website to promote your business. Many users use Craigslist to search the classifieds for jobs, rentals, dating, etc. You can post your product and place a link to a video or an audio message to give people more information. #4 - Create Your Own Blog - Many people today are finding that creating a blog is an excellent way to market just about anything. When you build up a blog, you basically work to build up a readership, and over time they begin to trust you and what you have to say. While you will be able to use the blog to promote your business, you will also want to be sure that you provide your readers with helpful information that will keep them coming back again and again. People love knowledge, and when you share knowledge on your blog that people are not familiar with, you will get them to become repeat visitors. Make sure that the articles are well written and interesting as well. Offer insightful articles and information. Become a resource to your readers and watch them return for more.
#5 - Offer Your Expertise In Online Message Boards - Using the online message boards to help people in your niche can work to your benefit. Find message boards that target your niche and become a resource to the users. Offer advice, tips, techniques to this crowd and watch them seek out your "strategically placed" signature link. Do not pitch at all in the message boards. It's useless and a waste of time. On top of that, it violates a lot of terms of service for the boards you post on. Instead be the go to person people look for when they have an issue they know nothing about or need help with. Become this person and watch your traffic go up.
