Getting Cheap Ink Cartridges - What Choices Do You Have?

Today another essential piece of equipment that many people will require at home if they have a PC is a printer. Yet in order for your printer to function properly it needs power and ink cartridges. However for many people when buying a printer for use at home they will go for the cheapest and most basic model simply because the price of replacement cartridges can be high.

The cost of ink cartridges will depend upon the make and model of machine and for more advanced machines you could expect to pay in the region of $40 for just one cartridge. Because of these high costs more and more people are looking for ways to buy them cheaper and so save money. Below we look at the alternatives that people can now use in order to get cheaper ink cartridges.

The first option available to you for saving money when the ink runs out in your printer is to use a ink cartridge refill kit. Although inexpensive and easy to complete. If a person does not follow the instructions provided correctly and use the syringe properly then the who task can turn out quite messy really. If you don't like the thought of doing this yourself you could use the services of a professional instead.

Although this is certainly a great way to save money on your ink cartridges, but you will need to provide a company close to where you live who can refill them for you. Otherwise the only alternative is to send the cartridges away to be refilled and then wait for them to be returned. So you need to keep a spare cartridge so your printer is not out of action whilst you wait for the other empty one to be refilled and returned.

With refill kits or using a refill service may seem a lot of bother even though it saves you money. But if you don't want to use this then you could instead go for a third party cartridge rather than buying one that has been made by the manufacturer of your printer. Buying third party ink cartridges could often save you between 30 and 90% of the original price that you would pay for an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) one.

Over recent years companies such HP and Epson has seen a marked reduction in the number of OEM ink cartridges being sold. Simply because people are suddenly realizing and choosing to buy third party ones instead. What makes matters even worse is that the prices of printers have come down considerably and in some cases to a situation where it is cheaper to replace the whole printer rather than just the cartridges in it.

Yet even though third party cartridges and refill kits will save you money the ink they now use is just as good as that found in the cartridges that the printer manufacturers supply. So today you really can save yourself money no matter what make or model of printer you have.

So if you are looking for an efficient and economical way of saving money on ink cartridges for your printer then it may be well worth your while considering the alternatives mentioned above. Certainly most cheaper ink cartridges for printers today will offer you the same high standard of printing as the OEM versions are likely to.
